BATTLE CREEK – The B.O.B. is back and better than ever.
The Best of Battle Creek series in the Enquirer is back for another year and again will include all the teams in the area.
Each week throughout the fall, we are going to ask, “Who is the Best of Battle Creek?” as we look at each position in football among the city/area high school teams.
Nominations for each position have come from the city/area coaches with a little information on each player. It will be a tougher list to make this year as we expand the field, but once we do, then it will be up to the Enquirer readers to decide who is the B.O.B.?

Each week we will give readers choices and open our online poll for voting, with a winner decided by the following Monday.
Next up are the receivers/tight ends on the city/area football teams.
Here are the nominations:
Cayden Allie
School: Galesburg-Augusta
Class: Sophomore
Why he is on the list: A blocking tight end, Cayden Allie anchors a solid Galesburg-Augusta offensive line that is helping the team average 6.65 yards per carry. Allie has good size for his spot at 6-foot, 2-inches and 200 pounds.
Dylan Eversole
School: Harper Creek
Class: Senior
Why he is on the list: A two-year starter for Harper Creek, Dylan Eversole was a key role player on last year’s playoff and league championship team as the team’s leading receiver. Eversole is a big-play receiver and hard to defend one-on-one and has given the Beavers a good option in the passing game.
Zach Hudson
School: Marshall
Class: Junior
Why he is on the list: A key part of Marshall’s balanced offensive attack from his receiver position. Zach Hudson has been the leader pass catcher for the Redhawks this year with 204 yards receiving.
Johnny Lake
School: Pennfield
Class: Senior
Why he is on the list: With great size at 6-foot, 6-inches, Johnny Lake is a difficult player to defend in the Pennfield passing attack. The leading receiver on this year’s team, he is coming off an all-city campaign a year ago. Can go up and get a pass with his athletic ability, but can also be a key blocker in the running game with his size.
Hunter LaSala
School: Climax-Scotts
Class: Senior
Why he is on the list: One of the few returning players on this year’s Climax-Scotts team, Hunter LaSala has provided good leadership from his tight end/receiver position. LaSala has good size for the position at 6-foot, 3-inches and 225 pounds.
Evan Lewis
School: Coldwater
Class: Sophomore
Why he is on the list: With good size and speed, which makes him a hard player to defend, Evan Lewis helps the Coldwater passing game thrive. Lewis has 318 yards receiving this year with five touchdowns.
Yoshua McDonald
School: Battle Creek Central
Class: Senior
Why he is on the list: Yoshua McDonald is a returning starter at receiver for Battle Creek Central. With good size and the ability to jump, McDonald has become a good target in the Bearcats passing game and a hard player to defend.
Teegan Otto
School: Olivet
Class: Senior
Why he is on the list: A gifted receiver as a tight end, Teegan Otto gives Olivet many options in the passing game. With good agility and the ability to run after the catch, he is an athletic receiver while also being a capable blocker at his tight end position.
Memphis Wirtz
School: Lakeview
Class: Junior
Why he is on the list: With good size and athletic ability, Memphis Wirtz gives Lakeview several options in the passing game. Can come up with the tough catch in traffic over the middle, while also being a key blocker in the Spartan running attack.
