The Detroit Lions have one of the 10 best receivers in the league, according to a survey of NFL executives, coaches and scouts.
In a report released by ESPN, Lions wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown was ranked as the NFL’s No. 6 receiver, behind only Philadelphia’s A.J. Brown, Dallas’ CeeDee Lamb, Miami’s Tyreek Hill, Minnesota’s Justin Jefferson and Cincinnati’s Ja’Marr Chase (at No. 1).
It’s a move of one spot up for St. Brown from 2024, when he ranked seventh.
A fourth-round pick by the Lions in 2021, St. Brown is a three-time Pro Bowler (2022-24) and two-time first-team All-Pro (2023-24) and is the only receiver to record at least 100 receptions and 10 touchdown catches in each of the last two seasons. He finished second in the league in receptions (115), third in touchdowns (12) and fifth in yards (1,263) in 2024 while finishing 11th in the offensive player of the year vote.
One unnamed NFL coordinator praised St. Brown’s “elite football instincts” white rattling off a list of his game-breaking traits:
“Understands how to attack leverage. Runs hard every play. Plays inside and outside. Makes all the tough catches on high-leverage downs. Blocks, plays physical.”
However, at least one of the executives, coaches and scouts surveyed left St. Brown off their top-10 list entirely.
The 25-year-old receiver is entering his fifth season with the Lions, and is on track to make his 500th career reception and record his 5,000th career yard with the franchise in 2025. St. Brown is already fourth on the franchise’s all-time receptions list at 430 and has 40 more to go to pass Johnnie Morton for third all-time.
