A contractor from West Michigan has pled guilty to construction fraud costing homeowners and business owners over $100,000.
Wesley Pawloski, 30, pled guilty June 2 before Judge Jon Hulsing in Ottawa County’s 20th Circuit Court. Across two separate cases, he faced four counts of fraudulent use of building contract funds. He pled guilty to three. The remaining charge, and — according to case notes — a district court filing, were dropped, but restitution is still expected.
In total, Pawloski must pay $126,487.52 in restitution to five victims.
Pawloski, owner of Blackstone Partners, was accused of accepting money for construction projects that were never completed. The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation in July 2023, after a homeowner filed a report.
Fraudulent use of building contract funds carries a possible fine of $100-$5,000 and/or 6 months to 36 months in prison.
Pawloski is scheduled to be sentenced July 14.
