It’s nearly time to bid 2025 farewell, and downtown Sault Ste. Marie will have a full evening of fun on New Year’s Eve.
The end-of-year excitement starts early with some multi-day downtown activities.
According to event details from the Sault Ste. Marie Convention & Visitors Bureau, from now through Dec. 31, people can add a kindness star at participating businesses to help fill downtown with positivity heading into the new year.
From Dec. 28-31, children can visit participating businesses and complete mini activities as part of the Kids’ Adventure Passport. They should hold onto those passports and bring them to the New Year’s Eve Glow Dance Party to receive a special surprise.
On Dec. 31, people can head downtown for even more New Year’s Eve fun.
The Kids’ Glow Dance Party will take place at the intersection of Portage and Ashmun with music, lights, glow gear and a countdown for the 8 p.m. Anchor Drop.
If you can stay up a little later, then you can join the Midnight Anchor Drop. People will start to gather at 11:45 p.m. for Downtown Sault’s official New Year’s celebration, sponsored by the Soo Co-Op Credit Union.
