Vote for ModForce Home Solutions Monroe County Region Athlete of the Week for Oct. 13-19

Milan’s Fred Brown was crowned the Monroe County Region Athlete of the Week for Oct. 6-12.

The soccer player collected 7,860 votes to outdistance Gibraltar Carlson cross country runner Giada Fioritto with 5,412. Flat Rock cross country runner Jacob Stanislawski was third with 3,178.

A new cast of candidates now is awaiting your vote to cast a winner for Oct. 13-19.

Polls are now open. You can vote until 11:59 p.m. Wednesday.

The poll is sponsored by ModForce Home Solutions.

Here are the credentials for this week’s candidates in alphabetical order.

Garrett Baxter, Ida soccer: The second goal of his career was the difference in a 1-0 victory over Milan in the District semifinals.

Braelynn Chiotti, Whiteford cross country: Won the league meet to become the Tri-County Conference individual champion.

Joseph Colaluca, Erie Mason cross country: Took first place in the Tri-County Conference meet to lead his team to the championship.

Brady Hines, SMCC football: Ran for 106 yards and a touchdown, threw for 94 yards and a TD and led the defense with eight tackles, including a sack and three tackles for loss, in a win over Jefferson.

Olivia Eby, Bedford volleyball: Recorded 21 assists and eight digs during a win over Monroe.

Camden Fairchild, Dundee football: Hauled in six passes for 107 yards and two touchdowns.

Addie Homrich, Erie Mason volleyball: Amassed 28 kills in a five-set win over Morenci and made the All-Tournament team at Allen Park Tournament with 17 kills and 25 digs.

Jaeli Jones, Summerfield volleyball: Recorded 16 kills and six digs in a win over Morenci.

Nora Kinsey, SMCC golf: Earned All-State honors by finishing 10th in Division 4 state finals.

Bella LaFountain, SMCC cross country: Won the Huron League Meet Thursday and the Airport Haunted Forest Invitational Saturday.

Patrick Murphy, Airport football: Ran for 73 yards and three touchdowns as the Jets won their first game of the season.

Jacob Offerman, Milan football: Caught nine passes for 142 yards and two touchdowns.

Ian Petrick, New Boston Huron soccer: Scored a goal in the semifinals and added two goals and an assist in the finals to lead his team to a District championship.

Ben Scully, Flat Rock football: Caught 5 passes for 90 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 67 yards and a TD.

Jacob Stanislawski, Flat Rock cross country: Ran to victory in the Huron League Meet with a time of 16:01.77.

Izaiah Wright, Gibraltar Carlson football: Ran for 201 yards and four touchdowns on 19 carries.
