Tarik Skubal, now the former ace for the Detroit Tigers and newest Dodger, shared his thoughts with Tigers fans in a goodbye message on social media Sunday as he moved into his new locker room at Dodger Stadium.
“Thank you for the last 8 years! Words can’t describe what this city has meant to me and my family,” he wrote in an Instagram post. “The support has never gone unnoticed and it’s something I’ll appreciate the rest of my life. To my teammates, coaches, staff, thank you for always pushing me to be the best version of myself. Detroit will forever have a special place in my heart.”
Skubal was traded to Los Angeles late Saturday night in a deal that yielded three prospects for Detroit.
On Sunday, Skubal could be seen linking up with his new team, hugging Dodger teammates and coaches, including manager Dave Roberts, who told Skubal: “You looking good in Dodger blue” … to which Skubal responded: “Kind of leans me out.”
