Adrian Public Schools, in partnership with the city, has announced the winners of the Bicentennial Celebration Art Contest, according to a community announcement.
The contest, a collaborative effort, invited K-12 students to submit original designs in honor of Adrian’s upcoming bicentennial. Dozens of creative entries were submitted, and the top designs were shared with both the school community and local residents, who were invited to vote on their favorite pieces in three categories: elementary, middle school and high school.

The winners are Kaelynn Choate, a fifth grader at Alexander Elementary; Marley Glumb, a seventh grader at Springbrook Middle School; and Sydney Britt, a junior at Adrian High School.
The winning designs will be printed on commemorative yard signs, donated by the sponsors of the Adrian Bicentennial. A limited number of yard signs will be available for pickup June 9-July 3 at the APS Board Office or City Hall.
“Partnering with the city of Adrian on this was such an enriching experience,” said Annie Howard, art teacher at Adrian High School. “It allowed the past and future to come together.”
The initiative marks the beginning of a season of celebration. The Adrian Bicentennial Committee has announced the official schedule for the 2025 Adrian Bicentennial Celebration, running July 3-6.
