Soo Film Festival announces 2026 lineup

The Soo Film Festival is set for Sept. 16-20 with a full lineup of features, shorts, music videos and animation.

“We have a fantastic lineup of films for 2026 and we are looking forward to another great weekend watching them with our friends,” said festival president Jason Markstrom in the announcement. “We are grateful the LSSU Arts Center was able to accommodate us this year to ensure we would have that great weekend.”

LSSU Arts Center Director Noah Lucé added that ”We’re thrilled to welcome The Soo Film Festival to the Lake Superior State University Arts Center this fall and to partner with an organization that celebrates the power of storytelling through film. Bringing the festival to our campus creates an exciting opportunity to connect our students and community with outstanding independent cinema.”

The Soo Film Festival primarily focuses on Great Lakes region films and filmmakers, but entry is open worldwide. More than 50 entries were selected across six categories. Featured selections will screen at the library on Sept. 16 and 17 for free. All programs at the LSSU Arts Center are ticketed. Festival passes and individual tickets will be sold online and at the door. Ticket prices are $7 for General Admission and $5 for seniors and students. There is a $20 Daily Pass with admission to all blocks on a single day, and a $50 Festival Pass with admission to all films and shorts programs on all days.
