Michigan State Police are searching for three people they believe disappeared while tubing on the Muskegon River sometime Tuesday, Aug. 4.
“The individuals have been missing for more than 24 hours,” the MSP Sixth District said on X on Wednesday, Aug. 5.
Police are searching for Jazzmin Hock, 28, of Muskegon, Sarah Vida, 28, of Muskegon, and Kayden Kovalcik, 9.
Troopers, with assistance from local emergency responders, said they were actively searching the area, on Thursday, Aug. 6.
Officials say the three were using orange and pink tubes.
The investigation began after the father of one of the missing women discovered her vehicle at the Maple Island Boat Launch, located in Newaygo County northeast of Muskegon, with a window broken out.
Family members have not been able to contact the three.
Police ask that anyone with information contact the MSP Hart Post at 231-873-2171, the Newaygo County Sheriff’s Office at 231-689-7303 or the Newaygo Central Dispatch at 231-689-5288.
