See the Greater Lansing high school boys track and field Dream Team, all-area

Here is a look at the Greater Lansing high school boys track and field Dream Team and all-area selections.

ATHLETE OF YEAR

Leland VanAlstine

School: Lansing Catholic

Year: Senior

Accomplishments: VanAlstine finished as the Division 3 champion in the 110 and 300 hurdles. He was the Greater Lansing Honor Roll Meet runner-up in the 110 hurdles and finished third in the 300 hurdles. VanAlstine was also part of the Cougars’ all-state 800 relay. He owned the area’s fastest time in the 110 hurdles and ranked second in the 300 hurdles.

DREAM TEAM

Ezekiel Baltierra

School: Alma

Year: Senior

Accomplishments: Baltierra placed seventh in the 1,600 at the Division 2 state meet.

Kamden Bigham-Tsai

School: East Lansing

Year: Senior

Accomplishments: Bigham-Tsai placed 15th in Division 1 in the 300 hurdles. He finished as the Honor Roll runner-up in the event and was third in the 110 hurdles at the meet.

Nolan Cullens

School: St. Johns

Year: Sophomore

Accomplishments: Cullens finished third at the Division 2 state finals in the 100, owning the top area time in the event at 10.6.

Braden Hartsuff

School: Corunna

Year: Junior

Accomplishments: Hartsuff finished fourth in the 110 hurdles and 12th in the 300 hurdles at the Division 2 state finals. He was the Honor Roll champion in the 110 hurdles.

Logan Herrick

School: Corunna

Year: Senior

Accomplishments: Herrick was the Division 2 state champion in the 300 hurdles with an area-best time of 38.02. He also won the event at the Honor Roll meet. Herrick was also fifth in the 100 at the Honor Roll meet.

Isaac Jacobs

School: Corunna

Year: Senior

Accomplishments: Jacobs placed 11th in the 200 and 16th in the 400 at the Division 2 state finals. Jacobs was the 200 champion at the Honor Roll meet.

Thomas Larson

School: Alma

Year: Senior

Accomplishments: Larson placed fifth in the 1,600 at the Division 2 state finals and had the best area time in the event.

Oliver Long

School: Morrice

Year: Senior

Accomplishments: Long was the Honor Roll meet and Division 3 state champion in the shot put. He had an area-best throw of 61-3 in the shot put. He finished third in the discus at the Division 4 finals.

Ian Morgan

School: Okemos

Year: Senior

Accomplishments: Morgan finished 14th in the 3,200 at the Division 1 state finals and was the Honor Roll runner-up in the 1,600.

Duncan Palmer

School: Williamston

Year: Sophomore

Accomplishments: Palmer placed third in the 800 at the Division 2 state finals and had an area-best time of 1:54.75.

Tommy Pratt

School: Williamston

Year: Senior

Accomplishments: Pratt took third in the long jump at the Division 2 state finals, had the area’s top jump and was part of an all-state 800 relay.

Channing Ridley

School: DeWitt

Year: Sophomore

Accomplishments: Ridley placed 15th at the Division 1 state finals in the 100 and was the Honor Roll champion in the event.

Brady Rowe

School: Portland

Year: Senior

Accomplishments: Rowe went unbeaten in the 400 outdoors and was the Honor Roll and Division 2 state champion in the event.

Jackson Shaltry

School: Grand Ledge

Year: Senior

Accomplishments: Shaltry finished as the discus runner-up and placed seventh in the shot put at the Division 1 state finals.

Jeremy Stephens

School: Holt

Year: Sophomore

Accomplishments: Stephens placed 12th at the state finals in Division 1 in the 200.

Brayden Truman

School: Alma

Year: Senior

Accomplishments: Truman finished 10th in the high jump at the Division 2 finals.

Chandler Webb

School: Perry

Year: Senior

Accomplishments: Webb was the Division 3 state runner-up in pole vault and was the Honor Roll meet champion in the event.

Eli Worthington

School: Owosso

Year: Sophomore

Accomplishments: Worthington was fourth in the shot put and discus at the Division 2 state finals. He was the shot put runner-up at the Honor Roll meet and finished third in the discus.

Grand Ledge 400 relay

Members: Griffin Hamilton, Levi Yeah Jr., Anthony Baker, Kingston Nixon

Accomplishments: Finished third at the Division 1 state finals and had an area-best time of 41.77

East Lansing 800 relay

Members: Aiden Ball, Carter Allen, Romero Brown, Kamden Bigham-Tsai

Accomplishments: Finished 11th at Division 1 state finals

Holt 1,600 relay

Members: Adrian Abbott-Wallace, Jeremy Sanders, Ethan Melville, Michael Aimery

Accomplishments: Placed 27th at Division 1 state finals and finished with area-best time of 3:23.59

Alma 3,200 relay

Members: Nico Lebron, Ezekiel Baltierra, Elijah Baltierra, Thomas Laron

Accomplishments: Finished seventh at the Division 2 state finals
