“Patient care technicians are an important part of our health care team,” said Rachel Peltier RN, manager of MyMichigan Health’s Educational Services and Development Department. “Under the guidance of a dedicated preceptor, participants will engage in hands-on training, review core concepts and practice essential clinical skills.”

Participants will learn to provide basic nursing care, communicate with patients, family members and others on the health care team, and obtain the skills necessary to assist with patients. The training includes both academic instruction and on-the-job training.

Upon successful completion, participants will receive an internal certification from MyMichigan Health, with the opportunity for hire in a casual or permanent position.

Those interested in learning more or registering for the program can contact Katie Halvorsen at katie.halvorsen@mymichigan.org or Dawn Parker at dawn.parker@mymichigan.org.
