LANSING — A couple of freeway projects starting Monday, July 28, could cause slowdowns for drivers who don’t find alternate routes.
Crews will begin work on $700,000 in improvements to the westbound Interstate 96 bridge over M-52 in the Webberville area, the Michigan Department of Transportation said. That job includes a partial deck replacement and construction of a new barrier wall, it said.
Drivers can expect lane closures and traffic shifts on both westbound I-96 and M-52 throughout the project, which is expected to conclude in mid-October, MDOT said.
Also beginning July 28, the agency plans to lay down a high-friction surface treatment on eastbound I-96 between Washington Avenue and Cedar Street in Lansing.
Drivers should expect intermittent lane closures beginning at 9 a.m. and ending at 3 p.m. each day. That work was expected to conclude on July 31.
