For some of us, Livingston County is simply the place we grew up; the place where family is, where work is, where home is. For others, living in Livingston County was a choice.
Whether for job opportunities, vibrant downtowns, lower taxes, excellent schools, or the general community, Livingston County residents continue to stay, play and love living here.
To honor that, we decided to ask our readers to nominate the aspect of Livingston County that made them choose to live or continue living here. We recognize there’s probably more than one answer, but we asked voters to pick their favorite aspect — the one that truly drew them or kept them here.
What draws people to settle or stay in Livingston County, Michigan? According to our readers, it’s the rural, small-town feel, at 29.45% of the vote. Livingston residents appreciate having plenty of agriculture alongside smaller cities like Howell, Pinckney, Fowlerville, Hartland and Brighton, as opposed to Metro Detroit and Lansing.
Residents also appreciate the lower cost of living and taxes, which earned 18.49% of the vote.
