The 2026 Livingston County girls cross country season has quite an act to follow.
In 2025, six of the 21 fastest girls in county history competed. Pinckney’s Jaelyn Ray set the county record, while Brighton’s Lydia LaMarra broke a 45-year-old school mark.
Ray is back for her senior year, looking to lower her county-record time of 17 minutes, 36.68 seconds set at the Father Gabriel Richard Invitational on Oct. 11. She ran a faster time at the postseason MITCA meet, going 17:21.3, but Pinckney doesn’t count meets not run in a school uniform for its records and neither do I.
As part of a series on Livingston County sports records, here are the fastest boys cross country runners. I don’t want these records to get lost now that I’m retiring. Each runner is listed only once, even though she may have multiple times faster than other runners on the list.
