Michigan State Police are investigating a weekend hit-and-run crash in Royal Oak Township that left a young pedestrian injured.
The crash occurred at approximately 11:17 p.m. on westbound Eight Mile Road, east of Wyoming Avenue, according to the MSP Second District.
The pedestrian, identified only as a juvenile, was taken to a hospital and is being treated for his injuries.
The driver fled west on Eight Mile and has not been identified, police said.
The investigation is being handled by the Metro North Post and detectives from the Second District Headquarters Special Investigation Section.
Police say the case is in its early stages and are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has information to contact the MSP Metro North Post at (248) 584-5740.
