The day he won, he purchased three lottery tickets at Main Street Convenience Inc., 402 S. Main St. in Ann Arbor.

He didn’t win anything on the first two, but was in disbelief when he saw he’d won $1 million on the third.

“I feel so blessed to win a prize like this. It’s going to give our family a sense of financial security and will allow us to give our kids a better future,” he told the Michigan Lottery.

He recently claimed his prize and chose to receive a one-time lump-sum payment of about $693,000 instead of annuity payments for the full amount.

He plans to use the money to start college funds for his children.

The $1,000,000 Cash Spectacular game costs $10 to play. It launched with three top prizes worth $1 million. Two of those prizes remain unclaimed.
