Francis Mauigoa, a junior offensive tackle for the Miami Hurricanes, has established himself as a dominant and physically imposing presence on the offensive line. He stands 6′ 5-1/2″ and weighs approximately 330 pounds. The Lions have an urgent need for an offensive tackle due to the release of Taylor Decker.
Below is an excerpt from my medical report on Mauigoa:
(Ages in parentheses are at start of 2026 season and are factored into the concern level. Injury info and ages based on available public information are unverified and subject to update. Games played data courtesy of sports-reference.com.)
Francis Mauigoa, OT (21) – Miami
Projected round 1. #13 on Daniel Jeremiah board Jan 27.
Concern level 4/10
Bilateral shoulder surgeries is certainly notable. Mauigoa’s reliability has been good in the 2 years after the shoulder surgeries which is reassuring. What may help balance out that shoulder history is his young age.
