My Chemical Romance at Comerica Park set times, tickets, parking, more

New Jersey rock band and emo superheroes My Chemical Romance play at Comerica Park on Friday night as part of the band’s The Black Parade 2026 tour.

It’s an extension of the group’s Long Live The Black Parade tour, which kicked off in 2025, and it falls on the 20th anniversary of the band’s landmark album about death and dying. (“The Black Parade” was released in October 2006.)

Ahead of Friday’s concert — the band’s biggest Michigan concert to-date — here’s everything to know before you go.

Are tickets still available?

Yes. Lower deck seats are available for $95 and upper deck seats are $30 via Ticketmaster. On secondary sites like StubHub, floor seats were priced upwards of $390 as of Tuesday, and pit tickets were priced at $682.

Who is opening?

The legendary, indestructible, Michigan-bred rock legend, Iggy Pop, is opening the show.

Wait, why is Iggy Pop opening for My Chemical Romance?

Great question! My Chemical Romance’s Gerard Way has long revered Iggy Pop as an influence, and in a 2009 interview with Rolling Stone, he said his goal for the follow-up to “The Black Parade” was to “harness everything that’s great about this band into shorter songs. Almost protopunk, like the Stooges or the MC5.” In 2010, the pair talked to each other for an article in Spin magazine, and Way recalled being into Iggy’s music at an early age. “It scared me, but I was drawn to it,” Way said. Which leads us to the current tour, in which My Chem has a different opener in each city, sometimes linked by geography — Jimmy Eat World is opening for the group in Phoenix, for example — sometimes not. Iggy Pop’s Detroit roots made him a good fit for the Comerica Park concert, and for the band to finally square the circle with one of its forebears.

What time do doors open?

Doors open at 6:30 p.m., according to 313Presents’ website.

What are set times?

Iggy Pop is set to go on at around 8 p.m., and My Chemical Romance is expected to go on after 9 p.m.

What songs are My Chemical Romance expected to play?

On this tour, the band has been playing “The Black Parade” in its entirety, in a highly theatrical production based around ideas of government control and authoritarianism, followed by a second sit of hits and fan favorites.

What’s the weather supposed to be like on Friday?

As of Tuesday, the forecast calls for partially cloudy skies, highs of 82 degrees, and no rain.

Where should I park?

On SpotHero, parking is available in lots closest to Comerica Park for $65, and in nearby lots for $55. Around a half-mile walk from the stadium, lots are available for $20-$25. Book in advance if possible.

Didn’t My Chemical Romance break up?

Yes. The band split in 2013 before reforming in 2019.

When was the last time My Chemical Romance played Detroit?

The band performed at a sold-out Little Caesars Arena in 2022. It was the band’s first Detroit concert since 2011.

Why is ‘The Black Parade’ important?

The ambitious set unfolds as a grand rock opera, following the story of a cancer stricken individual known as “The Patient,” as he confronts the end of his life. The music is sweeping and cinematic — part Queen, part Green Day, part Broadway musical — and is looked at as one of the best rock albums of the 2010s. “Welcome to the Black Parade,” the album’s lead single, reached No. 9 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, the group’s highest-charting single ever and its only Top 10 hit.

What is the band’s most recent album?

My Chemical Romance has released one album since “The Black Parade,” 2010’s “Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys.” A deluxe edition of the album was released in July.
