Michigan State football has extended an offer to a linebacker with interest from multiple big-time programs.
Tyson Washington of Springfield, Va. has picked up an offer from the Spartans. He posted on his social media X account on Thursday to announce the notable offer from Michigan State.
Washington is listed as a three-star prospect, with a recruiting rating of 87 in 247Sports’ system. He is ranked as the No. 62 linebacker and No. 18 player from Virginia in 247Sports’ rankings for the 2027 class.
Michigan State joins a long list of schools to extend an offer to Washington. According to 247Sports, he holds offer from nearly 20 schools, including the likes of Syracuse, Penn State, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, Clemson, Maryland, NC State, West Virginia, East Carolina, Marshall, USF, Costal Carolina, James Madison, UConn and Delaware State.
According to 247Sports, Washington has official visits lined up with Penn State, Virginia Tech, Syracuse and Wake Forest. Michigan State will need to find a way to navigate their way into getting an official visit to make up ground on those four power four schools that have the current advantage in Washington’s recruitment.
