In the new age of college NIL, college athletics are starting to look more like the NFL than anything we’ve seen before, so it makes sense that Michigan State would want to bring in a former NFL agent to handle their contracts for their student-athletes. This week, MSU announced they are doing exactly that, as Director of Athletics J Batt announced the hire of Mitchell Moorer as their new Executive Senior Associate Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Management and Administration on Wednesday.
According to a release by MSU on Wednesday, Moorer will advise J Batt on legal matters pertaining to the department, and he will also be responsible for drafting, negotiating, and managing contracts for MSU athletics.
Moorer negotiated over $1.3 billion in NFL contracts in his most recent stop as Vice President of SportsTrust Advisors.
