After Michigan football received the commitment from 2027 Chicago (Ill.) Mount Carmel four-star safety Tavares Harrington on Friday, the question quickly became, who’s next?
Unlike the previous two weeks, when the Wolverines went on a torrid sprint, gaining nine commitments in that span, there are no longer obvious recruits set to decide for the maize and blue. But some new targets are starting to emerge.
Also on Friday, 2027 Fort Wayne (Ind.) Northrop four-star edge rusher Ifeanyi Emedobi put the Wolverines in his top four, along with Indiana, Penn State, and Minnesota.
While that in and of itself is positive news, more came on Saturday.
The maize and blue received three predictions that Emedobi will ultimately choose Michigan football as his school of choice, with Rivals’ Allen Trieu, The Wolverine’s Ethan McDowell, and Gophers Nation’s Dylan Callaghan-Croley all projecting him to the Wolverines.
Emedobi is listed at 6-foot-2, 214 pounds. He’s listed highest by Rivals, which has him as the No. 265 player in the country, regardless of position. He’s a three-star according to 247Sports and ESPN, and thus No. 452 in the Rivals Industry Ranking.
While it’s positive movement the weekend before official visitors start to flow into Ann Arbor, there’s no obvious timetable for Emedobi to make his decision.
