Meet the Times Herald's 2026 All-Blue Water Area girls basketball teams

PORT HURON — Local headlines from the 2025-26 MHSAA girls basketball season often featured high-scoring performances, some of which made history.

Those responsible for such statistics, however, weren’t limited to one column of the scorecard. Just look at the Times Herald’s All-Blue Water Area girls basketball teams, where versatility is the top story.

In an effort to recognize the best athletes, selections were made with no regard to positions.

Coaches were asked to rank their top 10 players from the region. Those submissions were taken into consideration, along with other factors.

Here are the 2026 All-Blue Water Area girls basketball teams, with athletes listed in alphabetical order.

FIRST TEAM

Alexis Bruyere — Imlay City

Class: Junior

Position: Guard

Stats: 22.9 points, 4.4 steals, 3.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game

Awards: BWAC all-conference first team

Notes: Surpassed 1,000 career points this season. Scored 30 or more points in five games. Finished with season-high 38 points against Croswell-Lexington in a district semifinal on March 4.

Sadie Dykstra — Yale

Class: Senior

Position: Guard

Stats: 22.5 points, 9.4 rebounds, 4.2 steals and 4.1 assists per game

Awards: BWAC MVP, BWAC all-conference first team, BWAC all-defensive team

Notes: Led the Bulldogs to a 21-4 record, a BWAC title (shared with Armada) and a Division 2 district championship. One of two BWAC players to be named to both the all-conference first team and all-conference defensive team.

Gracie Pickelhaupt — St. Clair

Class: Senior

Position: Guard

Stats: 14.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 4.3 steals per game

Awards: MAC Gold MVP

Notes: Led St. Clair to a 19-4 record and a MAC Gold championship.

Valeria Ricossa — Armada

Class: Junior

Position: Forward

Stats: 18.4 points, 9.2 rebounds, 3.3 steals and 1.6 blocks per game

Awards: BWAC all-conference first team

Notes: Led Armada to a 15-5 record and a BWAC championship (shared with Yale).

Mariah Turner — Port Huron

Class: Senior

Position: Guard

Stats: 20.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.6 steals and 2.0 assists per game

Awards: MAC Red first team all-league

Notes: Led Port Huron to a 14-10 record. Set the program’s single-season scoring record with 478 points this year. Also set Port Huron records for most steals in a game (eight), season (88) and career (165).

SECOND TEAM

Rachael Johnson — Almont

Class: Senior

Position: Guard

Stats: 11.0 points, 3.3 steals, 2.5 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game

Awards: BWAC all-conference first team, BWAC all-defensive team

Notes: One of two BWAC players to be named to both the all-conference first team and all-conference defensive team.

Ella McMillan — Croswell-Lexington

Class: Senior

Position: Guard

Awards: BWAC all-conference first team

Kendal Quain — Marysville

Class: Senior

Position: Forward

Stats: 15.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 0.7 blocks per game

Awards: MAC Blue first team all-league

Notes: Led Marysville to a 16-9 record and a Division 2 district championship.

Caroline Reinke — Sandusky

Class: Junior

Position: Guard

Stats: 11.0 points, 6.1 steals, 6.0 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game

Awards: All-BTC Black first team

Notes: Led Sandusky to a 23-2 record, BTC Black title and a Division 3 district championship.

Sofia Russell — St. Clair

Class: Senior

Position: Guard

Stats: 10.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 3.8 steals per game

Awards: MAC Gold first team all-league

THIRD TEAM

Adeline Jones — Port Huron Northern

Class: Sophomore

Position: Guard

Stats: 9.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.2 steals per game

Awards: MAC Blue first team all-league

Anna Kehoe — St. Clair

Class: Senior

Position: Forward

Stats: 7.8 points, 9.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 2.5 steals and 1.3 blocks per game

Awards: MAC Gold first team all-league

Vivian Ricossa — Armada

Class: Freshman

Position: Guard

Stats: 10.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.0 steals, 1.6 assists and 1.1 blocks per game

Awards: BWAC all-conference first team

Harper Sharrow — Marysville

Class: Freshman

Position: Guard

Stats: 8.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.7 steals and 3.0 assists per game

Awards: MAC Blue all-league honorable mention

Brooklyn Ware — Port Huron

Class: Junior

Position: Forward

Stats: 9.5 points, 7.6 rebounds, 1.8 blocks and 1.7 steals per game
