Here is a look at the Greater Lansing high school girls track Dream Team and all-area selections for 2026.
ATHLETE OF YEAR
Katie Blue
School: Grand Ledge
Year: Senior
Accomplishments: The Michigan State signee ended her career as the Division 1 state champion in the pole vault and 300 hurdles. She was the Greater Lansing Honor Roll champion in the pole vault and 100 hurdles and finished as the runner-up in the 300 hurdles. She ranked first in the area in the pole vault and ranked in the top three in the 100 and 300 hurdles.
DREAM TEAM
Josie Bishop
School: Lansing Catholic
Year: Sophomore
Accomplishments: Bishop was the 800 champion at the Division 3 state meet, finishing as the runner-up in the 1,600, seventh in the 400 and part of the Cougars’ winning 1,600 relay. She was the Honor Roll champion in the 800.
Christina Dixon
School: Haslett
Year: Senior
Accomplishments: Dixon was the Division 2 state champion in the 400 and finished seventh in the 200. She was the Honor Roll champion in the 400.
Cayla Hawkins
School: East Lansing
Year: Freshman
Accomplishments: Hawkins owned the fastest time in the area in the 100 (11.85), 200 (24.01) and 400. She ended the season as the Division 1 champion in the 400 with a season-best time of 52.89. Hawkins was the Honor Roll champion in the 100 and was part of 800 and 1,600 relays that both finished third in Division 1.
Natalia Hawks
School: Okemos
Year: Junior
Accomplishments: Hawks placed 11th in the 100 and 14th in the 200 at the Division 1 state finals. She was the Honor Roll champion in the 200. She ranked in the top three in the area in the 100, 200, 400 and long jump.
Gabrielle Hufnagel
School: Owosso
Year: Senior
Accomplishments: Hufnagel was the Division 2 runner-up in the 300 hurdles and finished eighth in the 100 hurdles. She was the Honor Roll champion in the 300 hurdles and the runner-up in the 100 hurdles.
Alannah Love
School: Waverly
Year: Senior
Accomplishments: Love was the Division 1 and Honor Roll champion in the high jump. She cleared an area best height of 5-8.
Emily Peters
School: Olivet
Year: Senior
Accomplishments: Peters was the Division 3 state champion in the 300 hurdles and the runner-up in the 100 hurdles and was part of state champion 400 and 800 relays. She owned the fastest time in the area this season in the 100 hurdles.
Ava Schafer
School: St. Johns
Year: Junior
Accomplishments: Schafer finished fourth at the Division 2 state finals in the 3,200 and the Honor Roll champion in the event. She had the area’s fastest 3,200 time.
Celina Sinclair
School: Olivet
Year: Senior
Accomplishments: Sinclair finished as the Division 3 state champion in the 200, was runner-up in the 100 and was part of state champion 400 and 800 relay teams while contributing to the Eagles finishing as the team state champion. She had the second-fastest times in the 100 and 200 in the area.
Jenna Spitzley
School: Pewamo-Westphalia
Year: Senior
Accomplishments: Spitzley was the Division 3 champion in the discus and was runner-up in shot put. She was the Honor Roll champion in both events and had the top throws this spring.
Juliana Stepp
School: Holt
Year: Senior
Accomplishments: Stepp finished 11th in the long jump at the Division 1 state meet.
Grace Wonch
School: Lansing Catholic
Year: Junior
Accomplishments: Wonch was the Division 3 state champion in the 1,600 and 3,200 runs and finished third in the 800. She was the Honor Roll champion in the 1,600. Wonch owned the area’s fastest time in the 1,600 and ranked second in the 3,200.
East Lansing 400 relay
Members: Ayre’On Little, Olivia Adarkwa, Lola Fore Ogunfolabi, Nandi Gordon
Accomplishments: Placed 15th at the Division 1 state finals with a time of 49.17 and had an area-best time of 48.58
East Lansing 800 relay
Members: Ayre’On Little, Niesha Gomez, Olivia Adarkwa, Cayla Hawkins
Accomplishments: Finished third at the Division 1 state finals and had a time of 1:39.77 and placed first at the Honor Roll meet
East Lansing 1,600 relay
Members: Ayre’On Little, Niesha Gomez, Nandi Gordon, Cayla Hawkins
Accomplishments: Finished third at the Division 1 state finals and had an area-best time of 3:55.84
DeWitt 3,200 relay
Members: Emily Agnew, Natalie Hayes, Emma Cook, Bella Schneeberger
Accomplishments: Placed 13th at the Division 1 state finals
COACH: Brian Lincoln, Olivet – Guided the Eagles to a second straight Division 3 state title.
