We have a trade! Though it’s probably not the type of trade most Detroit Lions fans were anticipating. Per Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, the Lions are trading away wide receiver Tim Patrick to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
It’s a move after the roster cutdown deadline, one that will drop the Lions roster to just 49 players. Patrick was one of six wide receivers who made Detroit’s roster. The veteran had battled through nagging injuries in camp and had lost status to Kalif Raymond and dynamic rookie Isaac TeSlaa the longer the offseason extended.
ESPN reports that it’s a sixth-round pick coming to Detroit from Jacksonville. The Jaguars had six wide receivers make their initial 53-man roster, including two-way rookie Travis Hunter.
