LANSING TWP. — A Lansing woman has been charged in connection with a Sept. 9 shooting in Lansing Township, court records indicate.
Ashley McKinstry, 41, was arraigned Sept. 11 in 55th District Court on one count each of assault with intent to murder and felony firearm possession. A magistrate set a $75,000 cash bond for her.
No attorney was listed for McKinstry in court records.
The charges stem from an incident on Sept. 9 near Wood Street and Sam’s Way in which a 44-year-old man was shot in the face, township police said. The man was taken to a hospital and was in stable condition after undergoing emergency surgery, they said.

Police said they took a woman into custody and recovered two firearms. The man and woman knew each other, and the shooting was not random, police said.
The Ingham County Prosecutor’s Office announced the charges in a release on Sept. 11.
