Lansing shooting leaves man critical. What we know

A Lansing man was shot late Thursday night, March 12, and was in critical, but stable, condition at about 1 a.m., Lansing police said.

Police said “a person of interest” was in custody following the shooting, but the shooting remains under investigation.

Lansing police officers were dispatched to the 4700 block of Lowcroft Avenue, in south Lansing northeast of the Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Jolly Road intersection, at about 10:35 p.m. Thursday for a reported shooting, LPD spokesperson Jordan Gulkis said in an email.

“When officers arrived on the scene, they found a 57-year-old male with a gunshot wound,” she said.
