Lions head coach Dan Campbell confirmed earlier this week that Detroit intends to play a “significant amount of the starters” in its second NFL preseason date on Saturday against the Washington Commanders.
That list of Lions won’t include starting quarterback Jared Goff, but a number of other Detroit starters will see action.
What about for the Commanders? Is star quarterback Jayden Daniels suiting up? It certainly appears so.
On Saturday morning, the Commanders announced a list of 15 players that won’t play at the Lions. Daniels and wide receivers Terry McLaurin and Stefon Diggs are all available and all are expected to play.
It still remains to be seen how much Commanders head coach Dan Quinn opts to play Daniels and Co. against the Lions. But, like Campbell and Detroit, Quinn said earlier this week that “a good amount of starters” would get some playing time against the Lions.
