LANSING — It was an excellent senior season for Inland Lakes baseball star Ty Kolly.
Of everything he’s achieved throughout a stellar career, one honor he never captured was all-state.
Until this year.
Following his final season with the Bulldogs, Kolly picked up a major accolade as he earned a spot on the Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association (MHSBCA) Division 4 all-state team.
As a senior, Kolly was a superb infielder, whether it was playing at second base or shortstop.
Offensively, he was one of the most productive players on his team, batting .436 with 41 hits, 25 RBIs and 40 runs scored, which helped him collect all-Ski Valley, all-region and all-district honors.
Other Northern Michigan-based players joining Kolly on the all-state squad were Rogers City’s Justin Romel (catcher) and Jacob Cantalano (first), Harbor Light’s Daniel Urman (infield) and Will Paulus (pitcher), Pickford’s Mac Collins (infield) and Mason Andrzejak (outfield), and Gaylord St. Mary’s Cal Royce (outfield).
Mount Pleasant Sacred Heart’s Earl Hartman was recognized as the Division 4 coach of the year.
