Howell’s Mainstreet Winery will close for a couple of weeks as new ownership prepares to take over, according to a social media post June 17.
John and Sandy Vyletel opened the boutique winery at 201 W. Grand River Ave. in 2006. It’s been producing signature wines and serving handmade thin-crust pizzas, cheese plates, baked brie and salads ever since.
According to the post, the business’ new owners are “waiting for their final licensing.” The couple expressed gratitude for all the support they’ve received over the past 20 years.
“We know so many of you by name and your stories, and we have shared so much together,” they wrote. “Our hope is that you continue to support this small business and continue making more memories here with your family and friends.”
In the comment section of the post, the business wrote the new owners are longtime customers and “are not changing anything.”
The Vyletels did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Daily.
