Officials announced the closure of Howell High School on Monday, Nov. 10, after learning of a Snapchat message allegedly threatening violence.
According to a message shared on social media from Superintendent Erin MacGregor, an investigation was launched as soon as the district’s administration was alerted to the threat. Law enforcement is currently investigating.
The school is closed out of an abundance of caution, officials said.
The message did not share details of the alleged threat.
