BOYS WRESTLER OF THE YEAR
Bryce Morrison
SCHOOL: Hamilton
GRADE: Senior
WEIGHT CLASS: 150
ON THE MAT: Finished a perfect season at 53-0, including the Division 2 state championship after claiming conference, district and regional crowns. Reached 150 career wins.
COACH’S VIEW: “Bryce has been the standard of our program for the past four years. A four-year varsity wrestler and team captain, Bryce has consistently set the tone through his discipline, work ethic, and relentless commitment to improvement. No one in our room puts in more offseason work, and this season was a reflection of that dedication. Bryce will continue his wrestling career at Grand Valley State University, and we are incredibly proud of everything he has accomplished. His legacy in our program will be defined not just by wins and championships, but by the standard he set for those who will follow him.” – Trenton Holyfield

Aiden Chavez
SCHOOL: Zeeland West
GRADE: Senior
WEIGHT CLASS: 113
ON THE MAT: Finished 38-7. Won OK Black Conference title. Third at districts and regional qualifier.
COACH’S VIEW: “Aiden has help set the standard in the wrestling room the last four years with his work ethic and leadership. His presence will be missed in the room next season.” – Cody Stewart
Marcus Delgado
SCHOOL: West Ottawa
GRADE: Junior
WEIGHT CLASS: 106
ON THE MAT: Finished 37-17. Was second in OK Red, third in district, fourth at regionals to qualify for state.
COACH’S VIEW: “Marcus made a huge stride this year, going from not even qualifying for regionals last season to becoming a state qualifier. He had an outstanding year and finished near the top of the leaderboard in several team stats. His poised demeanor, unique style, and determination make him a real threat on the mat. Marcus also played a huge role in the team’s success by bumping up a weight class when the team needed him most. We’re excited to see what he does next year in his senior season — and if anyone can find their way to the podium, it’s Marcus Delgado.” – Mathias Sarli
James Foster
SCHOOL: West Ottawa
GRADE: Senior
WEIGHT CLASS: 165
ON THE MAT: Won the OK Red Conference and district titles. Took third at regionals and sixth at state for all-state finish.
COACH’S VIEW: “We are extremely proud of James for earning a spot on the podium in his senior season. He worked incredibly hard to reach this moment and was just seconds away from advancing to the semifinals, proving he can compete with the very best. James had an outstanding season and an incredible career at West Ottawa, finishing among the program’s leaders in several statistical categories, including all-time wins and team points. More importantly, he set a high standard with his attitude, work ethic, and leadership—one that our younger wrestlers will look to follow for years to come.” – Mathias Sarli
Maximus Gomez
SCHOOL: Zeeland East
GRADE: Sophomore
WEIGHT CLASS: 285
ON THE MAT: Finished 34-12. Won OK Black Conference title, was third at districts and qualified for regionals.

JJ Ledford
SCHOOL: Zeeland East
GRADE: Junior
WEIGHT CLASS: 132
ON THE MAT: Finished 10-3 after injury. Won districts, was second at regionals and took fourth at state to earn all-state honors.
COACH’S VIEW: “JJ is tough, focused, and resilient. Despite a pre-season injury that delayed his start, he came into the season strong and earned a state placement – a true testament to his determination and ability.” – Jason Hofman
Chase Morrison
SCHOOL: Hamilton
GRADE: Sophomore
WEIGHT CLASS: 126
ON THE MAT: Finished 55-4. Reached 100th career win. Won OK Black conference and regional titles. Was second at districts and third at state to earn all-state honors.COACH’S VIEW: ” Chase has quickly established himself as one of the standout wrestlers on our team. He combines hard work, mental toughness, and great wrestling ability with leadership that makes him a great teammate. Aiden Segovia
SCHOOL: Holland
GRADE: Senior
WEIGHT CLASS: 132
ON THE MAT: Finished 47-10. State qualifier. Took fourth at regionals. Conference and district runner-up. School record for wins with 174.
COACH’S VIEW: ” Aiden Segovia capped off an outstanding career as a two-time state qualifier and one of the most consistent wrestlers in the area, finishing with 174 career wins. He now holds Holland’s school record for most wins in the shortened-season era, an impressive feat given the reduced number of matches. Segovia’s toughness, discipline, and year-round commitment made him a cornerstone of the program and a standard-setter for those who follow.” – Nick Lewin
Chase Shults
SCHOOL: Zeeland East
GRADE: Freshman
WEIGHT CLASS: 132
ON THE MAT: Went 37-14. Was third at conference and districts to qualify for regionals.

Makario Stark
SCHOOL: Holland
GRADE: Senior
WEIGHT CLASS: 150
ON THE MAT: Finished 32-3 before season-ending injury.
COACH’S VIEW: “Makario Stark was a senior captain who put together an outstanding 32-3 season and was ranked 8th in the state, earning several high-quality wins along the way. Unfortunately, a season-ending injury kept him from competing in the postseason, but that doesn’t take away from the level he competed at all year. Mak was strong, fast, tactical, and smart — the kind of wrestler who made everyone around him better.” – Nick Lewin
Austin Ulberg
SCHOOL: Zeeland West
GRADE: Senior
WEIGHT CLASS: 138
ON THE MAT: Reached 100 wins. Finished 45-13. State qualifier. Runner-up at conference and districts. Fourth at regionals.

He battled through a severe football injury all season and still found a way to qualify for the state finals for the third time — a true testament to his toughness and discipline.
