Ottawa County and Allegan County are under a winter storm warning until 7 p.m. Dec. 29, according the National Weather Service.
The warning includes possible snow accumulations of 2-7 inches and wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour.
“Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous,” the warning reads. “Visibilities may drop below 0.25 miles due to falling and blowing snow. Whiteout conditions are expected and will make travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening.”
Those who must travel are urged to drive “with extreme caution” and bring tire chains, booster cables, flashlights, a shovel, blankets and extra clothing, as well as water and First Aid.
Lake Michigan is also under storm, gale, and heavy freezing spray warnings.
