Here's where to celebrate Fish Fry Fridays in Livingston County

It’s now the season of Lent, which also signals the start of Fish Fry Fridays.

Traditionally, during Lent, members of the Catholic faith abstain from eating meat on Fridays leading up to Easter. This year, Lent began Wednesday, Feb. 18, and ends Thursday, April 2. Easter will be on Sunday, April 5.

Here’s where you can take part in Fish Fry Friday in Livingston County:

Brighton

The American Spirit Centre at 10590 E. Grand River Ave. will host Fish Fry Fridays through Good Friday, April 3. The center’s doors open for take-out at 4:30 p.m. and dine-in at 5 p.m. The two-piece fish dinner is $16, while a three-piece fish dinner is $17. The chicken tenders dinner is $11. All options include a choice of baked potato, fries or macaroni and cheese, choice of salad or coleslaw, and cake. There will be a cash bar available. Each take-out order is an additional 50 cents.

The St. Patrick Knights of Columbus Council No. 7304 at 710 Rickett Road will host Fish Fry Fridays through March 27, running 4-8 p.m. with drive-thru and dine-in available. Dinner options include cod (one-piece for $13, two pieces for $15 and three pieces for $17), garlic butter salmon ($18), fried shrimp (five pieces for $18) and macaroni and cheese ($11). All meals come with coleslaw, bread, and a choice of fries, a baked potato or macaroni and cheese.

Howell

St. Joseph Catholic Church at 440 E. Washington St. will host Fish Fry Friday running 4:30-7 p.m. through March 27, including dine-in and take-out. The fish dinner is $16 (includes three pieces of baked or fried cod), the mini fish dinner is $13 (including two pieces of baked or fried cod), the shrimp dinner is $16, the special Po’ Boy sandwich is $15, and the gourmet macaroni and cheese dinner is $12.

All dinners include a choice of fries or baked potato, coleslaw or applesauce, and a roll. There’s also a children’s fish dinner for $8, a children’s macaroni and cheese dinner for $6, and dessert of the day for $4.

St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at 2099 N. Hacker Road will host Fish Fry Friday running 3-7 p.m. for take-out and 4-7 p.m. for dine-in through March 27. Dinners include fried fish (one piece for $10.50, two pieces for $13 and three pieces for $17), baked fish (one piece for $13.50 and two pieces for $17.50) and shrimp ($14.50 for nine pieces).

There are also options for fish and shrimp combos and a macaroni and cheese dinner. All meals are served with a dinner roll and a choice of two sides: fries, baked potato, coleslaw and green beans. There’s also a children’s menu, homemade clam chowder, dessert and beverages available.

Chemung Hills Golf and Banquet Center at 3125 Golf Club Road will host Fish Fry Fridays running 4-8 p.m. through April 3. The buffet-style meals are $23 for adults, $21 for seniors and $10 for children under 12. The menu includes battered fish, baked cod, breaded shrimp, boneless breaded chicken bites, macaroni and cheese, steak fries, coleslaw, caesar salad, clam chowder, fresh bread and chocolate chip cookies. American Legion Devereaux Post 141 at 3265 W. Grand River Ave. will host Fish Fry Fridays running 4:30-7:30 p.m. at 3265 W. Grand River Ave. The dinner is open to all and includes options of cod, walleye and shrimp.

St. Augustine Catholic Church at 6481 Faussett Road will host Fish Fry Fridays running 4:30-7 p.m. through April 3. The cost is $20 for a three-piece fish dinner or $12 for a one-piece fish dinner. There are dine-in and take-out options available. All meals include a choice of fried or baked cod, fries or a baked potato, coleslaw, a dinner roll and a pickle, along with coffee, tea or lemonade with dessert.

Fowlerville

The St. Agnes Knights of Columbus Council No. 8605 is 855 E. Grand River Ave. is hosting Fish Fry Friday running 4:30-7 p.m. through March 27. The meal is $15 for adults, $14 for seniors and $8 for children under 13. There’s also a new menu for young children for $8, which includes macaroni and cheese plus a side dish of either fries, cheesy potatoes or vegetables.

Hartland

Dunham Hills Golf Club at 13561 Dunham Road will host Fish Fry Friday beginning at 4 p.m. through Lent. The club’s fish dinner special includes crispy cod, fresh hand-cut fries, and a choice between housemade coleslaw or a side salad, all for $22. There’ll be an additional limited menu.

Pinckney

The St. Mary’s Knights of Columbus Council No. 11761 at 10601 Dexter-Pinckney Road will host Fish Fry Friday running 4-7 p.m. through March 27. The dine-in menu includes fried or baked fish. There’ll also be au gratin potatoes, fries, baked potatoes, a pasta station, clam chowder, green beans, beets, coleslaw, rolls and a sundae station.

The cost is $16 for adults, $15 for seniors, $9 for children under 13, or $50 for a family. There’s also a take-out menu for $12.

The Livingston County Wildlife and Conservation Club at 6060 M-36 will host a drive-thru Fish Fry Friday running 4:30-7 p.m. through April 3. The meal is $15 (cash only) and includes three pieces of cod, fries, coleslaw and homemade macaroni and cheese. For seating, members of the club and their guests can head inside.
