The Fowlerville Police Department is investigating after a two-month-old was admitted to C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor with life-threatening injuries.
According to a release issued on social media, police were contacted for assistance April 27 by Child Protective Services. The case involves parents under the age of 18 and preliminary investigation indicated possible child abuse and neglect. The infant remains in critical condition.
Fowlerville police wrote that medical staff found evidence of prior injuries in various stages of healing. The department has been assisted by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, including the Detective Bureau and Crime Scene Investigation Unit.
The investigation remains ongoing, including interviews, expert evaluations and additional medical records.
The parents and child, all being minors, have not been identified.
