A Fort Gratiot man accused of a crime spree in Harrison Township and St. Clair Shores has been bound over to Macomb County Circuit Court.
Thomas Edward Tackett, 53, was arrested in October. A news release from the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office states he allegedly broke into five homes, including four that were occupied, carjacked a man in Harrison Township and drove through St. Clair Shores Golf Course before getting on Interstate 94 and driving the wrong way at high speeds. Tackett also reportedly stabbed one of the homeowners with a fork.
“I am pleased that this defendant was bound over as charged,” Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido said in the news release. “The citizens of Macomb County deserve safe neighborhoods and confidence that those who commit serious crimes will be held accountable.”
Tackett was charged with 12 felonies and three misdemeanors:
A circuit court arraignment is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. June 29 before Circuit Court Judge Julie Gatti. Tackett is being held in the Macomb County Jail without bail.
