A person died Thursday after an Oakland County Road Commission vehicle and an electronic bicycle collided on Woodward Avenue in Ferndale.
The death comes three days after an SUV struck two juveniles on e-bikes in St. Clair Shores, injuring one of the youths.
Police said at about 12:52 p.m. Thursday, authorities responded to the area of 22230 Woodward, near the intersection of College Street, after receiving a report of the crash.
Officers found the 33-year-old e-bike operator at the scene and pronounced them dead, Ferndale police said in a statement posted to social media.
The truck involved in the crash was an Oakland County Road Commission vehicle, police said.
A spokesperson for the commission didn’t immediately return a message seeking comment.
“The Ferndale Police Department extends its deepest condolences to the victim’s family and friends during this difficult time,” the agency said.
An Oakland County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson said the sheriff’s Crash Reconstruction Unit assisted in processing the scene and deferred further comment to Ferndale police.
Police declined to release additional information about the crash or the victim and said the incident remained under investigation.
