Customers lined up for free coffee at the grand opening of the new Dunkin/Baskin Robbins in Dundee Tuesday, July 21.
Those who attended the opening had the opportunity to win 100 days of free coffee at the door, which brought plenty of customers despite the overcast and slightly rainy weather.
“I think it’ll be big and keep getting bigger throughout the day,” said Sandy Stackpoole, vice president of operations for OM Group, which owns the location.
Many of the customers were grateful for the addition of a new coffee shop to the community. One has been asking for a Dunkin specifically for four years.
“Back in 2022, I wrote this on Facebook, on our local Dundee page, requesting someone put a Dunkin in this town,” said Rachel Lucas. “And I had always said I’d be at the grand opening.”
“I’m very excited,” said Brie Posadny. “I know we’re close to Toledo and Ann Arbor, but it’s still a 30 minute drive to like anything. So yeah, anything that opens around here, I get excited.”
The opening festivities will be held until noon today. Attendees of the opening have the chance to win 100 Days of Free Coffee on Dunkin and merchandise giveaways. The franchise owner will also be presenting a $3,000 donation to Step Up Foundation in tandem with the Dunkin Joy in Childhood Foundation.
