A fatal crash occurred on I-96 near Outer Drive early Sunday morning.
According to a post from the Michigan State Police Second District, around 3 a.m. Sunday, a state trooper saw a tow truck crash near the concrete wall of I-96 traveling eastbound.
The trooper reentered the freeway to find a sedan blocking the middle lane and the tow truck stopped on the left shoulder of the freeway.
Police said the driver of the sedan lost control when it collided with the rear of the tow truck bed.
The drive of the tow truck, a male, was transported to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries.
The sedan driver was 23-year-old and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is onoing.
