Metro Detroit restaurateur Jeremy Sasson is expanding Prime + Proper, his premier steakhouse in Detroit’s Capitol Park, from Motown and the Motor City to the south’s Music City.
On Tuesday, Heirloom Hospitality, Sasson’s restaurant and hospitality group, announced plans for a Prime + Proper in Nashville to open later this year.
According to a news release, the restaurant will open in the Nashville Yards area.
“We believe both the Motor City and Music City have such great histories and communities with a love for delicious food and soulful hospitality,” said Jeremy Sasson of Heirloom Hospitality in a news release. “We are so honored to have the opportunity to become part of the fabric of the greater Nashville community.”
In Nashville, the restaurant will have features mirroring its Capitol Park location, including having the city’s largest restaurant dry aging facility. Prime + Proper’s well-aged and marbled meats will be paired with wines from several on-site wine cellars and curated by Prime + Proper’s team of sommeliers.
Located at 1000 Broadway on the street level of the Nashville Grand Hyatt, Prime + Proper will seat nearly 200 across its 7,200-square-foot space, including the main dining room, private dining and bar seating.
Nashville Yards is a 19-acre development area featuring “office, retail, entertainment, hospitality, and residential towers in one authentic, irreplaceable community,” according to its website.
Prime + Proper is moving into a space previously occupied by Bar Continental, a record-listening bar and lounge by Nashville chef Sean Brock, according to the Tennessean.
“Prime + Proper offers an unmatched culinary experience – excellent food, top-notch service, and a great atmosphere,” said Tim Horton, managing director and partner – Hospitality Investments at Southwest Value Partners. “We are pleased to welcome them to Grand Hyatt Nashville.”
Prime + Proper’s Nashville location will also feature its Knife Society membership, which gives guests access to the restaurant’s exclusive programs and events.
Leading the restaurant’s interior design is Tury Design. The restaurant architecture component will be led by Remick and designing the kitchen is JS2 Designs.
