The son of a Detroit Pistons legend will be playing his college ball in Michigan.
Deuce Hamilton, a senior forward at Oakwood in North Hollywood, California, has committed to playing for the Oakland Golden Grizzlies for the upcoming 2026-27 season. Hamilton is the son of former Pistons shooting guard and three-time All-Star Richard “Rip” Hamilton, who played in Detroit from 2002-11 and won the 2003-04 NBA title with the Pistons.
Hamilton is listed at 6 feet 6 and 185 pounds per his profile on RealGM. Hamilton previously played at Campbell Hall in North Hollywood, where he was teammates with Chris Paul II, the son of NBA legend Chris Paul.
Per MaxPreps, Hamilton is averaging 12.7 points and 5.1 rebounds per game over 12 games at Oakwood.
Oakland finished the 2025-26 regular season at 16-15 and 12-8 in Horizon League play; the Golden Grizzlies are the No. 4 seed in the Horizon tournament and host Northern Kentucky on Wednesday night (7 p.m.)
