Date set for Terrion Arnold's pretrial detention hearing after arrest

Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold has a date and time set for his pretrial detention hearing.

Arnold, who is currently sitting in jail after he was arrested on Wednesday, June 24, on four counts of kidnapping and four counts of armed robbery, will have a pretrial detention hearing at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, June 29.

During that hearing, it will be determined if he is eligible to be released on bond or if he must remain in jail.

It is not his first court proceeding, as he appeared in court via satellite on Thursday morning.

Arnold’s arrest Wednesday came hours after two defendants agreed to plea deals in a kidnapping and assault case they allegedly committed on Arnold’s behalf.

The cornerback has denied any involvement in the case, and his representation said in a statement Wednesday, “there is no credible evidence linking Mr. Arnold to these allegations.”

The Florida state attorney’s office has accused Arnold of “coordinating and directing” the robbery and beating of Arnold’s personal driver and two of the driver’s associates by several of Arnold’s codefendants. The alleged incident happened after Arnold accused the driver of arranging the theft of more than $250,000 in cash and goods from a home he was renting in February in the Tampa area.

The four other defendants who did not take a plea deal are being held without bond in jail in Florida as they await their trials.
