National warehouse shopping chain Costco is opening a new location in Fruitport Township, Michigan, next month, according to the retailer’s website.
Fruitport Township is located on the west side of the state about 10 miles southeast of Muskegon. The warehouse retail chain also is set to open three additional locations in October, according to its website, in Ontario, Canada, and Pennsylvania and South Carolina.
Earlier this year, Costco opened a Michigan location in Genesee County. The company aims to open 25-30 new locations per year, half in the U.S. and the other half internationally.

When is the new Costco opening in Muskegon?
The Costco store is expected to open at a location on Harvey Street in Fruitport Township in October 2025, the company website says. The exact date is not listed.
How can I sign up to become a Costco member?
To shop at Costco, you need to purchase an annual membership.
You can sign up online or in person for a “gold star membership” for $65 per year, or an executive membership for $130 per year. The executive membership offers a 2% annual reward and discounts on Costco services while the gold star option does not.
