According to SACF, the scholarships go to students who are pursuing higher education, skilled trades, medical school and specialized training programs. Some area students also received scholarships from SACF’s lead foundation, the Community Foundation for Northeast Michigan.

“The impact of these scholarships reaches far beyond a single school year,” said the community foundation’s program director Jennifer Dingman in the release. “By helping students pursue careers in fields ranging from health care and agriculture to welding, plumbing, the arts and countless other professions, these awards are strengthening the future of our communities.”
