Chance the Rapper, Martina McBride to headline Dearborn Homecoming fest

Music stars, including Chance the Rapper and Martina McBride, plan to headline the 45th annual Dearborn Homecoming Festival.

The free festival at Ford Field Park, 22051 Cherry Hill Road, will take place Friday, Aug. 7, through Sunday, Aug. 9.

Chance the Rapper, who sings “Cocoa Butter Kisses” and is featured on songs with Justin Bieber and Lil Wayne, will perform on Sunday, Aug. 9 at 8:45 p.m., according to a news release from the City of Dearborn.

Chance the Rapper is on a 10-year anniversary tour for his Coloring Book album all summer and into the fall, with no Michigan venue planned. Fans can see him perform for free at the Dearborn Homecoming Festival.

Martina McBride, known for 90s songs including “Independence Day” and “Valentine,” will perform Saturday, Aug. 8, at 8:45 p.m., according to the news release. Earlier in the summer, McBride also plans to perform at the Great American State Fair marking America’s 250th birthday at the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

Other artists performing at the Dearborn Homecoming Festival include former “The Voice” finalist Laith Al-Saadi and country singer Alexandra Kay.

Along with music, the festival offers a vendor village, arts and crafts, food trucks, a beer tent, a 5k race, fireworks shows and more.

The festival is free to enter, though parking at Ford Field Park costs $10. There is a complimentary shuttle available for those who park at Dearborn High School and Dearborn Fresh, according to the festival’s website. Participants can also ride a bike to the festival.
