Cadillac is launching an ultra-exclusive version of one of its luxury midsize sedans in celebration of the brand’s entry into Formula 1 racing this year.
Only 26 vehicles for the CT5-V Blackwing F1 Collector Series will be produced, Cadillac said on May 1, to celebrate entering the race in 2026.
Mark Reuss, General Motors’ president, said in a statement that each of the 26 vehicles is “curated to be a centerpiece in any collection.”
“The CT5-V Blackwing embodies the very best of Cadillac track-capable performance,” Reuss said. “With the F1 Collector Series, we’re channeling the energy and innovation of Formula 1 into a road-ready sedan that feels every bit as special as our entry into the sport.”
The announcement comes before the Formula 1 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix 2026 and the Cadillac Formula 1 Team’s inaugural home race, GM noted in its news release. GM added it produces the series after close collaboration with Formula 1 and the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile, the governing body for World Motor Sport.
GM said production of the CT5-V Blackwing F1 Collector Series is scheduled to begin in mid-2026 and is intended for sale in the United States and Canada.
The Blackwing comes with the latest 6.2L V-8 that produces 685 horsepower with 673 pound-feet of torque courtesy of an upgraded supercharger developed collaboratively with GM Motorsports.
The F1 Collector Series comes exclusively with a 6-speed manual transmission, GM also said, “ensuring the Blackwing’s commitment to the art of driving.”
Sales of the CT5 increased 11% last year to 16,561 vehicles. The base trim of the vehicle starts above $50,000.
The current CT5 will be produced until late 2026. GM confirmed last October that production of the next generation gas-powered CT5 would take place at its Lansing Grand River Assembly Plant. That investment followed a $1.25 billion investment from the company in the Michigan plant to continue production of internal combustion engine vehicles, at the time a reversal of previously stated plans to spend $1.4 billion to retool the assembly plant for electric vehicles.
