BRONSON, MI — The Polish flag flies with the U.S. flag in Bronson Thursday, July 17, through Saturday, July 19, for the 55th annual Polish Festival.
Dozens of events take over the town for the three days, with plenty of Polish food and beer.
Descendants of dozens of Polish farmers and factory worker families started the festival in the 1970s to celebrate their heritage.
Bronson became one of the largest early concentrations of Polish emigrants west of Detroit and Wyandotte in the early 1900s.
The weekend begins Thursday night in St. Mary’s school gym when the festival king, queen, princes, and princesses are crowned.
On Friday and Saturday, N. Matteson Street is closed for vendors, crafts, and food next to the downtown gazebo park.

The complete list of events is on the Bronson Polish Festival Facebook page.
