Brighton Smokin' Rock-N-Blues: Everything you need to know before Sept. 5

Mouthwatering barbecue, vendors and plenty of live music will soon fill Main Street in downtown Brighton.

The Brighton Smokin’ Rock-N-Blues Festival runs 5-11 p.m. Sept. 5 and 12-11 p.m. Sept. 6. The event was formerly known as the Smokin’ Jazz and Barbecue Blues Festival.

The festival is presented by the Greater Brighton Area Chamber of Commerce and Bank of Ann Arbor. Here’s what to expect if you visit:

Which musicians will play during Brighton Smokin’ Rock-N-Blues?

There will be a range of musicians playing at The AMP during the festival, including:

Friday, Sept. 5

5 p.m. – Brendon Linsley Band

7 p.m. – Randy Brock Group

9 p.m. – Greg Nagy Band

Saturday, Sept. 6

12 p.m. – Spiral Crush

2:15 p.m. – Zang

4:30 p.m. – Revival: A Tribute to the Allman Brothers Band

6:45 p.m. – ’89 Exes

9 p.m. – Chris Canas Band

What is the event schedule for Brighton Smokin’ Rock-N-Blues?

On both days, shoppers can explore a vendor market along Main Street, as well as barbecue food trucks and food and beverage tents.

There will also be a children’s area sponsored by Pop Daddy from 5-8 p.m. Sept. 5 and 12-8 p.m. Sept. 6. The area will include the following on Sept. 6:

There will also be a Silent Disco from 3-8 p.m. on Main Street near the intersection with Grand River Avenue. Organizers call the event a “must try.”

Brighton also has a social district where visitors who’ve purchase alcoholic beverages from approved businesses can wander and shop. Participating drinks cannot be purchased after 10 p.m. and will be served in special glasses.

There’s a long list of vendors participating in Brighton Smokin’ Rock-N-Blues, including The Pound, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Lu and Carl’s, Captain’s On Main, Champ’s Pub, Brighton Bar and Grill and the Brighton Lions Club.

There will be free shuttles running every 15 minutes from 4:30 to 11:30 p.m. on Sept. 5 and 11:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Sept. 6. You can catch a shuttle at:
