Get ready to celebrate, because the Boyne Falls Polish Festival has reached a big milestone.
The 50th annual Polish Festival begins on Thursday, July 31 and runs through Aug. 3. The four-day event features car shows, a polka tent, live music, a mud run and more.
Here’s what on the schedule:
Thursday, July 31
Festivities get started with Local’s Night. Bingo will take place at 4 p.m. at the Hudson Township Hall. At 5 p.m., both the polka tent and concessions open for the evening. The car show, featuring classics, convertibles, muscle cars and more, will be on Railroad Street starting at 6 p.m.
Yankee Station will be playing in the tent from 6-9 p.m., with Derailed performing from 9 p.m. to midnight. The polka tent closes at 12:30 a.m.
Friday, Aug. 1
Friday is Youth Day, with the Youth Bike Parade among the day’s highlights. Kids can begin decorating their bikes at 2 p.m. at the library, and the parade will start at 2:30 p.m.
There will also be free games and activities for families from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Music gets going in the polka tent at noon, with the Kowalski Brothers Polka Band, the Kielbasa Kings Polka Band and The Mix taking the stage throughout the day.
A Boyne Valley history exhibit will be set up in the township hall from 1-6 p.m. for people to check out.
Also taking place on Friday is the Bump and Run. The pits open at 2 p.m. and the green flag drops at 7 p.m. General admission tickets are $15, kids tickets for ages 5-16 are $5 and pit passes are $25. Kids under age 5 are free.
Saturday, Aug. 2
Family Day’s schedule is packed, with a 5K run, the Grand Royale Parade, lumberjack shows, bounce houses, a cornhole tournament and more.
Throughout the day, there will be performances by the Kielbasa Kings Polka Band, The Mix, New Generation and Ty Parkin and the Old Souls.
Sunday, Aug. 3
Family Day fun continues on Sunday, starting with a 9 a.m. mass under the Polka tent and followed by the popular 4-Wheel Drive Mud Run at noon.
The event, which takes place rain or shine, features trucks in different classes roaring their way around the famous Mud Run course. General admission tickets are $15, kids tickets for ages 6-16 are $10 and pit passes are $25. Kids age 5 and under are free.
