After four years, a pub best known for tasty burgers will close up shop at 3380 Chicago Drive in Hudsonville.
Bosco’s Pub was a leap of faith for owner Doug Furness, who launched the business in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was quite the change from his former career working in the tool and die industry. But he knew he had a good concept — something besides pizza in Hudsonville — and he had the support of his wife, his son and his daughter.
The pub — 3380 Chicago Drive — serves up a menu of burgers and wraps, plus appetizers, salads, domestic drafts and bottle beers. The idea, at first, was to serve lunch and dinner, but a struggle to find kitchen staff shifted the focus to evening hours. The restaurant, according to its website, is open 4-10 p.m. Tuesdays-Thursdays and 11:30 a.m.-10 p.m. Fridays-Saturdays.
But those hours will end June 15, when Bosco’s closes the location for good.
“The city of Hudsonville has made the decision not to renew our lease,” the business wrote on social media Sunday, June 1. “We will be fully moved out by July 1.”
“While this news is bittersweet, we want to assure you that this isn’t the end of Bosco’s,” the business added. “It’s simply the end of one chapter.
“The response and support we’ve received since opening has been nothing short of incredible. In fact, your enthusiasm has shown us that we need more space to truly serve you the way we’ve always wanted. And that’s exactly what we’re working on: finding a new location where Bosco’s can thrive and grow, while continuing to bring you the food, drinks, and welcoming atmosphere you’ve come to love.”
