Big Ten rival beats our MSU football for 4-star Ohio DL prospect

Michigan State football suffered a tough recruiting loss on Wednesday.

Reinaldo Perez of Columbus, Ohio announced his commitment to Indiana on Wednesday. Perez picked the Hoosiers over Michigan State, Stanford and many other power four schools.

Perez is listed as a four-star prospect, with are recruiting rating of 90.79, according to 247Sports composite. He ranks as the No. 36 defensive lineman and No. 296 overall prospect for the 2027 class.

Perez visited Michigan State this past weekend and raved about the visit. But, it clearly was not enough for him to end up as a Spartan — which is a tough blow considering he is a high-end player going to a Big Ten rival. It felt like this may have been one of the key recruiting battles the Spartans were going to win so this is a tough one to swallow after a solid official visit this past weekend.
